We have formal links with numerous global Christian organizations. The word often used to describe these is "ecumenical", taken from the Greek word oikoumene, which means "the whole household" or "the whole inhabited world".
The Council for World Mission (CWM) is a worldwide community of 31 Christian denominations working as equals with a common commitment to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Established in 1977, it grew out of the London Mission Society, the Commonwealth (Colonial) Missionary Society and the (English) Presbyterian Board of Missions.
Each partner Church develops its own local mission programme, whilst supporting the work of others through the sharing of experience, people and other resources.
The Council for World Mission's Pacific region has established a website highlighting something of the work, activities and events of CWM Pacific. The Global Mission office is seeking to work in partnership with CWM in this area.
TIM is a flagship programme of the Council for World Mission. The programme’s aim is “to equip young people for a lifetime of service to Christ and his church. TIM was initiated in 1981 in response to ca challenge to CWM to create opportunity for involving young people in mission learning and mission engagement. In the past 28 years approximately 280 young people aged between 20-30 years old, drawn from CWM member churches and the wider ecumenical community have participated in the programme.
