I am married to Kevin who is a “retired” but a working scientist, researching climate change. We have four children, three of them married – our daughter Lauren to Mike, our sons Fraser to Ruth, Andrew to Rachel and daughter Emma. It is a delight to have our three grandchildren living here in Palmerston North. Our younger daughter Emma now lives and works in Auckland.
I have a background in health having worked as a dietitian at hospitals in Wellington and Lower Hutt. Later I worked in Health Promotion for MidCentral Health Public Health Services until I retired.
I am an elder of St David’s Church, Palmerston North where my main role is to convene the Family Support Committee. Our team is responsible for Family Ministry and being “Kids’s Friendly. Being part of National Council of Women (NCW) for a number of years has kept me up to date on local and global issues. I am the APW representative at NCW Manawatu Branch and serve as Vice President.
It is an exciting but challenging time to be involved with APW as I believe the organisation is evolving to embrace the realities of the 21st century and it looks forward to a broader range of Presbyterian women becoming involved. I continue to be blessed by such loving, committed and God - inspired women.
Other passions of mine are walking holidays with my husband, cooking all kinds of dishes and “going green”.
