The 40 days of Lent begin 17 February, Ash Wednesday. The Church has Lenten resources available including services and meditations and Lenten Bible studies. This year the World Council of Churches Lenten resources include: "Holy Waters", a series of Lenten reflections from the Ecumenical Water Network exploring the deep liturgical roots of baptism as the heart of Lent; and "Cries of Anguish, Stories of Hope", a series of online Lenten studies on the struggle to end violence against women. The resources offer a weekly film focusing on the lives of women in various parts of the world, a Bible study, fact sheet, discussion starters and worship resources.
